8th Annual Paws in the Park -Saturday, October 30

 Now this sounds like fun!

The Central Brevard Humane Society will be hosting their 8th Annual Paws in the Park – “Celebrating Friendships With Our Furry Companions That Last a Lifetime” on Saturday, October 30th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Wickham Park Main Pavilion in Melbourne (located next to Brevard Community College’s Melbourne Campus).

This fun interactive pet fundraiser will kick-off with a quarter mile “dog” walk-a-thon around the Wickham Park Main Pavilion led by the Paws and Stripes Program participants. People of all ages are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends along during the walk, but an animal friend is not required for participation. From the largest teams to individual walkers, everyone’s support is needed to help raise funds to care for the homeless animals of Brevard. The top (3) walkers with the most pledge dollars will receive a “fabulous” prize, and the first (75) walkers with pledges of $20 or more receive a FREE “Paws in the Park” t-shirt. Sponsorship forms for walkers are available by clicking here, All proceeds raised from this event will directly benefit the homeless animals in Brevard County.

In addition to the walk-a-thon, the event will include the Halloween “Spooktacular” Costume contest along with the Owner/Pet Look-a-like and Best Pet Trick contests, live entertainment, animal demonstrations, great food, a vendor village, rescue groups and “ask a vet tech” booth. Contests will be judged by local celebrities and other surprise guests. Admission and parking are FREE. All animals must be on a leash and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.
